Satyanarayan Puja is a popular Hindu ritual to honor Lord Satyanarayan, a benevolent form of Lord Vishnu representing truth, to invoke blessings for prosperity, happiness, and well-being.

Key Elements of the Puja

1. 1. Ganesha Puja:

   The ritual begins by invoking Lord Ganesha to remove any obstacles that might arise during the puja. 

2. 2. Satyanarayan Katha:

   The stories of Lord Satyanarayan are recited, which explain the origin and benefits of the puja and the consequences of failing to perform it. 

3. 3. Offerings:

   Sweet treats, primarily made with ingredients like sugar, wheat rava, banana, milk, and ghee (apada nivedya), are offered. 

4. 4. Havan:

   A fire ritual is conducted to praise Lord Satyanarayan and receive his blessings. 

5. 5. Aarti and Prasad:

   The puja concludes with an Aarti, a ceremony involving revolving a small flame, and the distribution of sacred Prasad. 

When to Perform

• Auspicious events:

  It’s common to perform the puja after major events like a wedding, the purchase of a new home, or achieving success in one’s career. 

• Purnima:

  A full moon day (Purnima) is considered especially auspicious, although the puja can be performed on any day.
